Harley Rake Question

I have a T-6 3pt harley rake currently on my JD 870 compact tractor..I just picked up a JD 110 TLB and the 110 has the option of hydro on the front bucket for a "push" harley rake...

question is i have never used a "push" style harley rake yet, would it be worth getting one for the front of the 110after i sell the 870, this way not taking backhoe off and on all the time or just keep the 3pt to use on the 110...

I would check the pump flow output on the 110 before getting serious about a switch. Some of the hydraulic motors take an amazing amount of gpm to make them operate properly. Besides the rake on the loader might not work out well as far as control. I doubt if the front wheel weight would be enough to accurately guide the machine around obstructions properly. Even adding weights would there be enough horse power after supplying the necessary oil flow ? I rented a rake before purchase. If the dealer would let you try out a rental for a skid steer this would answer your questions very quickly. Good luck

I think its a 12gpm on the front lines from reading around here your right I didn't think about the weight aspects of it

Rent one and try it, I believe the skid steer style Harley rake requires a min of 11 gallons per minuet. I've tried it on the 110 and it will "work" but not like it should, it will stall frequently and you won't be able to be as aggressive with it like you would on a skid steer. The TR6 rake would work just fine behind it, just not as versatile as the skid steer style.

yeah thanks for the help, im gonna stick with the rear mounted rake whenever i figure out how to get the lift arms to work on the 110 now
