notamustang, I borrrowed a potatoe plow, put a spear point on it to get is much depth as possible. Even at that, I could only get about 6-8' deep. I bent the top link doing it - with it plunged as deep as possible, the toplink was at an extreme angle pointing down and the compressing force bent the toplink. A subsoiler tends to be longer with more metal above and below the lower arms connect points. It depends also on how high your tractor is above ground.
I took about 4 ' of 2" gray plastic conduit, warmed it up by putting it on the exhaust pipe of the car, then formed a near 90 degree gentle curve, attached it to the back of the plow with 4 long stainless steel worm gear clamps . One person slowly drove the tractor and a second fed the black plastic pipe dowm the conduit. Make sure the conduit is plenty big so the black poly doesn't bind in the curve. After the pipe is knifed in I drove the tractor back over the slit and you could hardly see any damage to the lawn.
