Kubota ZG227, wanting BX25D
I've seen where people added, say to a Curtis Cab, a heater with a valve to shut off the hot water flow, which I would like to know more about the brand of heater....but, I have not seen where anyone has added air conditioning. If anyone has done this, please let me know where I may find some pics or videos. I know the RTV1100 has a heated and air conditioned cab. I have a friend who uses on with his chicken houses instead of a pickup in Winter and Summer and seems to be happy with heat output and cooling in hot, humid Summers. I just thought it would be nice to have the ability to heat in the Winter and cool in the Summer when the humidity is 100% and the ambient air temp is 100 degrees..and be inside away from the mosquitoes. I am not sure how the RTV1100 A/C gives you cooler air, meaning is the unit able to dehumidify the air and cool it.

Also, as I am knew to this, it does not seem like there is such a thing as an enclosed cab that allows you to run the backhoe. Maybe this is only on tractors that are like $75,000 type of machines. In a Kubota brand, is there a tractor with backhoe offered with a fully-enclosed cab so you can have A/C and heat, year-round?

Thanks for any replies.

A friend builds hot rods and put A/C in everyone.

He has used Kits and also picked up parts from a local wrecking yard... likes small Japanese cars/trucks.

Plenty of Kubota cabbed tractors with backhoe (see kubota.com). Look at the new B2650 and B3350 cab models, for instance.

I believe he's wanting to actually be in the cab while operating the hoe.

For us Yankees up here in the north, our BX-25's have ac for 4 months during the year.

As far as I know all AC will also take the humidity out of the air. Its just like a cold beer or pop on a hot humid day, the moisture naturally forms on the can. Its the same with AC, the moisture forms on the coils and is removed from the air. At home you can actually increase the power and efficiency of the AC by running a dehumidifier.

I appreciate the replies and info. My "wants" may be bigger than my disposable income. I grew up and dug my share of ditches and post holes. It may sound like I want a big flat screen, A/C, and be able to punch a button and have the backhoe dig the desired hole or trench. I am just researching what is available and what isn't and what is available and how much those comforts cost, too.

Again, thanks for your time and help.

Well a Curtis cab with heat goes around $3500 to $4000 new installed and is readily available. The heater portion is under $400 and could probably be adapted to a tractor with a different make of cab as well. As for a/c, I have never seen it on a BX sized tractor but that doesn't mean it can't be done. You would need a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't currently come on a BX and I'm guessing it would be pretty expensive unless you were real handy and could find some salvage parts to adapt. Maybe you could get The Fred to help you! LOL. (He added a turbo to his L series tractor and caused quite a stir here)

I don't think Kubota offers a tractor with a cab that allows backhoe operation in the cab.The closest I have seen is an M59 with an aftermarket cab,Kubota doesn't offer a factory cab for that model.Same situation for the other TLB series machines.

Hi TxDoc

The only company I know of that offers a heated and air conditioned cab for the Kubota TLB's is Laurin Inc. in Quebec (www.laurin-inc.com). They list cabs for all the BX's up to BX24 from what I can see but the BX25 is not currently listed although they may have one. They are very expensive but I put one on my L45 and I am very happy to be out of the cold of a Canadian winter and air conditioned and out of the flies in the summer.

They are not as good as Kubota factory cabs but you can work the hoe from inside and they are a lot better than being in the elements.

Regards,

Lauren
