Most I found that could deal with the 5GPM though, did not output all that much torque at full pressure, so I would need even a larger reduction ratio to make up for it(overall lower mixer RPM with the motor running at full tilt.

Yeah, 5GPM is at the low end, certainly. White Hyd does make some
decent motors, but finding a distributor that will give you a decent price and
call you back is tough.

Lots of good ideas here on making fence posts. The need to get a mixer
onto the loader for high enough lift is very important for pour-in-place,
keeping in mind that 1/3 cy of concrete plus the mixer may be as much as
1300# total. Or even more, if larger aggregates are used. I really like the
pour-in-place methods over pouring into forms on the ground and tilting up.

I may end up just converting my Mixer80 to loader mount and hyd drive,
rather than starting from scratch. Not only will the drive and mount be
changed, but a different style of paddles will be required as the discharge
method will be reversing the rotation like big mixers. The PTO mixers are
not reversible so discharge is dependent on gravity. They also use paddles
that do not push the mix out when reversed.

I have also found that bagged pre-mixed concrete is a PITA, and more
expensive, too. Cutting and dumping bags into the drum is more strenuous
on older backs and usually gives a certain amount of "blow-back" as it enters
the drum. I have probably done over 120 loads with my mixer, using 3
different tractors.

This is one awesome post. I have been using 6" round treated posts ($8.00 ea) with 4" round posts as supports ($4.00 ea). I am going to use 1x6's and build a mold to make a 5-1/2 inch square concrete posts 7 feet long. No steel, just fiber, and see how it turns out. I will put a threaded anchor in the top so I can lift it into the hole and remove the eyebolt after installation. I know that concrete posts will last a lifetime, and the wood posts will last 10 years at best, so I need to try it now. Got plans for more fence this spring. Does anyone know if you can use white chalk to dye concrete? Could make the fence posts white.

I purchased this home built unit last spring. It somewhat like the monolithic mixer. Hyd drive with roller chain reduction. Has a air operated side door for small volume discharges.
However unlike theirs it was not made to scoop its own agregate. So we changed the angle of the quick attach plate so it could scoop and dump out of the front. Moved the hyd motor from the left side to the rear so it would not get into the gravel pile when scooping material. I would like to replace the air cylinder on the side discharge with a electric splitter valve and a hydraulic cylinder sometime to so it would not need to be hooked to a compressor every 15 dumps or so. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try it out in its old configuration, but it was covered in concrete so it must work.
The main thing i would like it to find some sort of seal for the mixer shaft to keep the concrete out of the flange bearing on the rh side and off the sprockets on the left side.
Any idea what they use in the monolithic mixers for seals?
Ken

Pitts Engineering Works, LLC in Tennessee manufactures the Concrete Titan 125/E Heavy Duty Mixing Trailer. This unit has a 1.25 cubic yard capacity, an onboard water wash-out system, and a GVWR of 9800 pounds. This unit is the most technologically advanced, most robustly designed, manufactured, and engineered tow behind rotating drum mixers available anywhere in the world today.

I realize this is a very old thread, but i was googling and found the sight. I have a mixer like this and did build a concrete fence with it. thought I might share with like minded people if they still use this sight.
