Hi, I use a large air impact wrench, (with good air supply) with harrow raised, vibration of impact settles components into place, (slowly turns) as it tightens nut.

One other thing is to make sure all spools and disc mating surfaces are clean before reassembly. Use wire wheel on a disc grinder or at least a hand wire brush on those surfaces. If you don't clean off the dirt, your axle nut/gang assembly won't stay tight. You need good metal to metal contact everywhere, then when you tighten the nut (actually you are stretching the axle) it will stay tight.

And if ya want to KEEP it operating good...grease the living "DOO-DAH" out of it after each use!!

I spent 7 full days rotary wire brushing...priming and painting a set of 5 ft disks I picked up CHEAP this past summer. After replacing all the zerks in it...it took MORE than 2 full tubes of grease to get grease flowing out of those cast iron bearings. But she "sho do good now"....:)
