Hello:

Thanks to all for the informative responses to my previous posts ("Which Kubota for the High Country?").

It looks like it's narrowing down to an accessorized Grand L4610 or an L48, with bias towards the L48, partially because of the 4-point ROPS/FOPS for the forest work.

Our local dealer doesn't have L48's yet. Has anybody on this forum seen/bought/operated one? What do you think? Is the backhoe/operator's seat better than the L35's? I've heard some complaints about this.

Thanks again,

Newkirk

P.S. Some people wanted to see a picture of Snow Valley Ranch in winter. Voila!

I honestly cant figure out all the comotion about the seat on the L35. It doesnt bother me in the least. If your asking about the backhoe on the L48 it is stronger but I looked over the specs and the L35 matches pretty comparable to digging force etc.

I heard from Carver Equipment that there will not be any orders of L48's coming until May or around that time /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Goodluck with your hunting and what a lovely piece of property you have !!

Geez, I thought I had some leveling work to do /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif! Seriously you have some beautiful land there. But if you really want to "level it" you might need something more like this.

Peter, I see that thing has a Kubota Orange towbar attached to it, is it attached to Harv's tractor? The pic was cut off there, so I couldn't tell.

Now you're being silly, Dude. My little 'L' would have a hard time with that beast.

I did, however, find the uncut version of that picture (attached) and I see a buggy that looks suspiciously like somebody's L4310 we know. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ditto on the seat.
Although I would like to push a button and release it to spin/lift, after I've done it once I know what to push/pull before I get off of the seat going either direction and it becomes a simple procedure. Do it the wrong way (as I've seen a couple of dealers do) it will fight you and you'll wonder how in the heck it works. I can't even explain the steps I use, weight on seat/ not weight on seat etc but the correct way is a finger touch job.

I want it all, a 5 foot wide tractor but the swivel feet with room for my legs like a Case 580!

Maybe if I took off the fenders and the rops, I might be able to make a spin around seat with my legs up in the air!

Wheeeee!

I find the L35 sometimes too big for in-the-woods. Sometimes too small too! The L48 specs out nice if I had the room!

Harv you might not know or should I say didn't know what a genset was until yesterday. But I will say this you are a hot cat with those pictures!!! You surely have forgotten more about a computer than I know without a doubt but I'm learning slow but sure./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Think those tires of Mark's really has enough traction to pull that hoe???/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I think I already know Mark's reply./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Harv - Thanks for the plug! It just goes to show what third-party advertising will do for you. I've been advertising for jobs like that for years, and rarely get any work of that sort. Then you post a single picture on this board and I've gotten three excavator/crane/mining truck extraction jobs this week! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
