Has anyone seen the new Pontiac GTO(Holden Monaro)

Holden has been making auto's in Australia for years and GM bought the company way back when( I forget).
It was my understanding the Monaro is an Australian design and the GTO is a rebadged Monaro with the American made engine.I believe they ran it in the Corvette.

I love the rear wheel drive cars.
When I was a boy my father bought a brand new 1965 GTO.
I have been hooked every since.

When/if I ever get the new GTO, I want the 6 speed,I can smell the rubber and see the smoke now. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Nice car Tom! Ever go to Norwalk to the Pontiac Nationals car show and drag races?
We have been twice and have a great time. Over 400 race cars and 300 show cars.

Norwalk is about an hours drive from the house........I get there about once a year for the spring test & tune and the fastest street car shootout..........My kids are real time sponges........Baseball in the prime drag racing season, basketball now, piano lessons.................etc...........My cars have taken a back seat to the kids for now..........I like to spend as much time as I can with them............BTW.........my goat is numbers matching 455 / 4 gear also........A lot of fun to drive..........It's a great stress reliever !! Has anyone heard a price on the "NEW" gtos yet ?? ............Tom

I have heard high $30,000's.
You ought to make plans to go to Norwalk. It is August 6,7, and 8th.
Pretty good time, we camp at the track.
They have a tractor there(see, tractor related!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Sounds like a nice car!! Looks good! I love thoses 4 speeds.

Steve......I've seen the tractor at norwalk........a big kubota with front broom.........It runs low 3's (minutes, that is !!). I guess I'll just have to buy two more older gto's instead of that new one. "30K +" .?? For the new one....UGH !! So much for making it affordable to the masses.........................Tom
