Trying to find a garlic peeler that doesn't cost a few thousand dollars. I watched a video on peeler and I think a chicken plucker might work. Also would be dull purpose.

My dad found some kind of method to peel garlic rubbing two pans together. I can't remember the details but that shouls be enough to google. I think he found a video on YouTube showing the process.

We peel and dry about 20 lbs of garlic right now. We plan on increasing this amount this year and beyond selling garlic powder. I would like to raise some broiler chickens thinking the plucker could do double duty. I seen a video on peeling it by putting it in 2 metal pots and shaking the pots for about 30 seconds.

Just curious. How many ounces of garlic powder can you obtain from one pound of fresh garlic?

I don’t see how it would work. You would have to have the fingers very close together to prevent the garlic from falling through. With the fingers that close, it wouldn’t work well with the chickens.

I never measured the amount but I am guessing around 4 ounces from a pound. I know 1pound of garlic planted will yeid about 4pounds at harvest.
