Has hyd oil always been light/clear?

It looks clean, it's just darker. Guess I'll get rid of it, you're right Chris, it's not worth a chance. But I think TSC is charging $42 around here, that's quite a difference..

TSC is on the outs around here since Rural King came to town. We have 3 TSC's within 12 miles of my house and never see more than 4 to 5 cars in the lot. Rural Kings lot is always full. They have what you want, cheaper, and the stores are as big as the original WalMart, not the super centers.

Most in our area are in old WalMart, Target, and KMart buildings. They have tons of stuff. I would say 10 times that of a TSC.

i can't vouch for what you might have, but i vaguely remember that the hydraulic oil that is shipped in some tractors (particularly jd) has been colored (red i think?) from the factory. i read that is was done to make leaks easier to detect. maybe it's from a first change in something?

if unsure whether it is new or used, try sticking a clean wooden stick to the bottom and scrape it around down there. there's a good chance you may find some sludge/dirty residue on the bottom if it is used.
