Cold seat in the Winter and not too sweat smelling in the Summer. Thank God for hydrated lime. :)

Can you imagine the "millennials" having to use them today? :D

I built one at the campground on our farm. Grandkids think it's a novelty to use it. Course that's because they are only there when the weather is good.

Around here you need about $300k just to build a basic 3 bedroom home, septic system alone will be orth of 40k and then there will be the $1000-2000 a year for licenced maintenance. There is a 5 acre lot down the road from us that has so many restrictions on it that between the natural gas pipeline and the little wetland areas that there is almost nowhere you can build on it.
I am so glad that we built when we did, I am sure that it would cost at least 3 times as much as is did when we built 23 years ago.

Regarding costs to build a house.

I read a couple of Irish news websites. Long story as to why which I will skip. :D:D:D

There is a severe lack of housing in Ireland and there was a report in the last few months on building costs. About 40ish% of the cost to build a house was the actual house. The other 60ish% was for permits, fees, taxes. I THINK land cost was in the 40% as well. The article was all about the inflated cost of housing due to the government rules and regulations.

They had another article about septic systems where a large minority/small majority of recently inspected systems failed. Twas a bad article because they did not say WHY the systems had failed. My impression was that maybe they failed because the tanks had not been pumped per the regulations.

The cost to build in our area has increased quite a bit with new fees/taxes since we built. A certain party controls the county, they are trying to get even more power with some new games being played, and they are very anti growth so they are increasing building costs, as well as adding costs to save the planet. Ironic that they increase these costs AFTER they have their house

Later,
Dan
