Well, Mahindra isn't shy on spending advertising dollars, so maybe they are number 1 there. Heh. I noticed during the World Cup they purchased a ton of "board" time in quite a few of the games.

Last I knew...MF was the #1 in Tractor Sales on the globe, followed by Deere. In North America, Deere is #1
Something else to think about, what are you counting? Number of tractors? Sales in $? etc? you can sell 10 little Mahindra's and still have less $$ then one of the big Deere's or MF's...

Anyone that wants to save a buck be my guest. Just so I don't have to look at it on my property. Always will be useful for yard art when parts are no longer available in the near future.

Mahindra is the largest manufacturer in India - it's flippin' HUGE! Parts will be available for those things for a long time... And it's not just tractors, they also build army vehicles (heavy, light, and guns) for nearly every army in the world. I don't know about sales numbers, but the company itself will be around for a long time...

They are probably on much better footing than many large American companies these days... Deere is probably just as likely of going BK as anyone, regardless of their loyal following here...
All it takes is a little mis-management...the bigger they are the harder they fall...

Its no different than Ford saying their "F series" is the worlds best selling truck. Yeah it is because they are including all F150, F250, F350, F450, F550, trucks and comparing them to 1 of their competitors trucks like a Silverado, or a Ram 1500.
If Chevy and GMC combined their numbers, they would be much higher than Fords, but its all in how you twist the words and facts around, and then hide the details.
Every manufacturer does it, and its annoying......

Unless ... Unless, they can grow themselves so big that they are "too big to fail" (ie gov't bailouts). I think that might be my next goal: Grow a company, any company, so huge, whether or not our products/ services are actually needed from my future huge company's target huge size, that the govt can't let me fail. What fun?!?!
OK, I am just kidding ... but I wonder how many actual aggressive business men out there are thinking exactly this.
