There wasn't really anything we did with the design that would cause slow loading, especially on fast connections. Once the layout elements (css, javascript, html) are loaded once, your browser puts them in cache and future pages load them instantly.

There could possibly be issues with a page hanging while waiting for an ad server to load; some things to think about include:

- Do you have any firewall or privacy settings that block third party scripting? (Merely blocking it would just make ads not display, such as with firefox's noscript add-on. This should not cause slow loading).

- Do you have anti-virus software installed on your computer? How does it handle web pages?

- In order to test if the problem is related to advertisement display, you can install noscript for firefox, which will block all scripts by default (you can allow them on a case-by-case basis or site-by-site basis).

- How do the TractorByNet.com home page, reviews and other sections load? Are slow loading pages limited to the forums? If so, which pages?

- When a page loads slowly, check all the way at the bottom for the page generation time. It will look like this: Page generated in 0.08217 seconds

- If multiple computers have the same problems, we generally start to look at ISP routing and issues that occur somewhere between your ISP and our server.
Muhammad, while youre looking ... What (size7) about (size1) the font sizes? (default)

Before the redesign I had some hang time issues although found out it was the Browser program I was using ( AOL ) it was suggested that I try using Firefox.... and using it correct things right away, move from 1 page to the next now with no problems,.......... as before it was a long wait to simply try to go back, I found that it was faster to click off and then sign back on again rather then waiting to go back to last page,......... But you stated that you have used firefox and still have slow issue, must have something to do with your ISP as already mentioned.

As I said in post 28 in the "Redesign Coming Soon" thread , it takes twice as long to load a page on my computer . Been that way since day one of the new design .

I haven't had any problems with speed or page loading. I run Windows Vista system and Firefox and high speed cable internet. I used to have slow load times using Internet Explorer. This page loaded in .08217 seconds for me.

Muhammad,
The site is no longer slow for me. I have noticed a change today. I can get in fast now, the complete opposite of what I was going through this morning and the past month. thumbsup:

The pages load in the click of a mouse at my work. At my home, they tend to get delayed by some advertising loading. Since I can see the difference between the two ISPs, it leads me to believe the problem is with my home ISP, not TBN. ;)
