Thanks, John. I agree. Interesting story about the load you pulled. Tonight I return to Pendleton, OR to retrieve the trailer and tractor. As before, I will take my time and be very careful loading it. I made a mark on the flat trailer, where the tractor front tire rested last time.
The 62 mile route is all flat, except for one 2-mile climb to cross the Horse Heaven Hills. I just downshift, but never have my foot all the way down on the gas. This time, I'm gonna try to get 45 mpg on the way over, and 25 mpg on the way back.
