Wow.. I had no idea the tc33 was so much lighter than the 1920.

The 1920 is actually closer in physical size, weight and capability to a TC40 than to a TC33.
1920 = 3069#
TC40/TC40D = 3147#/3328#
TC33 = 2474#
1720 = 2690#
All are shipping weights, with ag tires, no FEL, no extra ballast.

A person definitely wants to support any implement hanging off the 3 pt hitch while trailering. Even if the rotary cutter, or whatever implement is attached, is hanging over the back end, as long as it can lowered where it is sitting on the flat portion of the trailer bed, it shouldn't be a problem. With a 20' trailer, we might be talking, what, about 2' - 4' hanging over?

I've not gone back and re-read the 3 pt hitch damage thread that someone was kind enough to dig back up for us, but might there be a concern if just the very front of the mower deck was resting on the trailer? Most of the weight of the deck is still hanging, and can pivot about the point where it rests on the trailer, possibly stressing the 3 pt (though probably not as bad as if it were totally free hanging). It may be that supporting only the front prevents all of the stress noted in the thread, or just a portion of it. Hopefully the guru who posted in that thread will chime in.

Good Grief --- we're neighbors --- 517 is 2 exits up from the office. I work for the Nat'l Weather Service on 646 -between hwy3 and I45 - can't miss the radome sticking up. I bought my tractor in La Grange near my real home. The trailer is 18' and I have no problem pulling it with my little 1/2 ton ford so I'm quite sure your suburban would work fine. The tractor normally stays at home in Bastrop but I have several projects for it down here so I'm planning on bringing it down the weekend of the 19th. I'm actually bringing it to the office to knock back some brush that's overgrowing the back property line. I'm normally here 7 - 5 .... if I don't answer on ext 1 ... try ext 242 -- the operations area .. and they can page me --- darn computers are scattered all over the place and ya never know what keyboard I'll be at.

Bnixon, I have a tc35d. MY trailer is an 18 ft. 12,000 lb trailer made by Moritz International in Mansfield, oh.
I haul the tractor, loader and box scraper with no overhang.

Here in northern kentucky we have some hills that are pretty long. My 2000 f150 with a 5.4 engine and trailer towing package is taxed pretty hard on some of the hills.

Most of the weight is on the trailer and it does not even know it. The trailer has brakes on all 4 wheels. Good luck.

That was my thought as well. I have nothing against the boomers.. I love the way they look, etc.. but I like my 4 cyl engine plenty good, and believe that it may be under rated in the HP range.

Any idea if the shipping weights account for fluids ( oil, etc? )

Thanks,

Soundguy
