I do not feel your pain In Canada, Diesel is $7.22 per US gal. Gas is $6.65.

It is going to get worse. Oil today was trading at $82.06 for September contracts. June's average was $70.25. The changing price of gas has historically lagged behind the price of oil and follows a similar trend for price change. Dumping 215 million barrels of oil on the market from the SPR last year caused the price of gas to drop well below the normal trend, 40 cents below according to the White House. Now gas is catching back up. With crude oil forecast to be in short supply later this year, the price goes up. Historically oil at $100/barrel gives you gas at about $4.30/gallon.

Holy crap, where are you in Canada? I'm in NS, the prices here as of Aug-08-23
Gas CAN$ 1.845L which is US$ 5.17 a US gallon
Diesel is CAN$1.922L which is US$ 5.40 a US gallon

We gettin played like fools. Something tells me the prices of fuel drops September of ‘24, but between now and then, it’s time to take it like a man.

Oh well, I guess I should be “thankful” for the $3.50/G we had.

Here in south Louisiana, diesel has stayed above gas by about $0.30 a gallon. Most of my trucks are gas powered and it had dropped to about $2.90 a gallon, but it's back up to about $3.50 now.

No one is saying why diesel and gas are so much closer in price now compared to a year or two ago when the difference was about $1.50 to $2.00.
