It's being reported that the fire investigation has found no foul play and likely an accident.

I read that as no accelerant was found.

That's been discussed earlier, it's called adverse possession. He might have a claim if he hadn't stated that he had an agreement with the owner... even then it's questionable as it would need to be for at least 20 years and he was right on the margin when the landowner told him to leave.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels that way. He had a pretty good run of it though... 27 years rent free, now his supporters are raising money to buy him his own land. I must be doing something wrong, I've always had to pay for everything.

True. I don't have any of the above though, so...
Isolation tends to lead to more isolation, after a time it becomes self feeding. As the media provides more and more info though, it sounds like he had quite a complex; two story house, chicken coops, gardens... It must have taken a lot of work buying all of the lumber and hauling it up the river. :)

I've tried to pick it out on Google Earth but haven't been able to pin the location down yet based on the information given.

You're right, he could've been anywhere but I believe this is it or in this vicinity. A few miles from Rt 93 and on the river.
I read where he had kids but had no relationship with them and today he said he really didn't love anyone.
