I stand corrected, thanks. So much confusion over these "needless" issues.
Wasn't looking to be correct or correct you, I'm just trying to put out some of this insane information because there are those who believe Coumo and his followers did a good thing here not realizing how this gun control law is going to effect all law abiding citizens in N.Y.S. I had a friend who is a FFL holder write his senator and ask this question," why are the police in N.Y.S. going to be allowed to carry 12 to 14, to 16 rounds in their Glocks to protect themselves when we are limited to 7"? He's waiting for an answer.

Are off duty officers required to act as Police Officers in a situation in which a law is broken?

good luck!.. report back what you found. there isn't a .22 LR in Harrison Ar. I found 6 boxes (300 rounds) of .22 shorts had just come in to Wal Mart. I asked about when the truck would come in, and he said sure the truck would come in tonite, but there wont be anything on it in the way of .22 LR cartridges. He said the 6 boxes of .22 shorts came in last night and we are lucky to have them. We haven't had a .22 LR cartridge in over 2 weeks. Most of the rest of the shelves were bare, there were a few 12 gauge more 20 gauge, and some 16 gauge shells, but very few of anything else. All the popular cartridges were gone. I didn't see any 9mm. and all the pistol calibers shelves were bare.

Very few .22s. There were CCi, I think I did se some strange brand of bulk, not wolf or aguila but something else at a reloader/ supply/ make their own ammo booth. They were gone by the time I got to their table which was about 1hour 45 mins after opening. They did have all the ammo they load in stock all day long 9mm, 45acp (well I say all day it was getting slim after about 1pm when I was leaving), .40, 44, 38 you name it they had it loaded and you could even buy 1000round ammo cans of it. Prices were not gouging prices but regular price. I only boght some 44mag loaded from them. I got lead wadcutters and paid $23/50rounds. You could get FMJ 115grain 9mm loaded for I think $15ish/50rd? Primers were in very short supply and CCi/Winchester were going for $40/1000. Their powders were reasonable for between $20-23/lb depending upon type. I found factory rifle ammo all day long for centerfire. Even .223 most brands I looked at were $25/20 (these were other booths, not the above one).

I did notice that wolf and tula ammo both 223 and 7.62 was going for $10/box some vendors had 10 box limits. If I would of known that I would of brought the ones I just paid less than $5/box for and sold it I can get more If I want to wait 4 weeks which is no big deal to me!! I did see one guy that was crazy, he was selling the white box bulk Winchester (100rds) of 45acp for $60!!

Most AK mags surplus steel or new steel ones were going for $40-50. AR mags were $30-40 for milsup colt AR mags and similar for magpul, pmags etc. Did see Tapco AK mags for $30!!! I paid $9 2 months ago!!

I think technically and morally they are...if they have their service weapon with them. I think I remember this from my best friend in HS who's step dad was a city officer in our town. I think all municipalities have different policy though.

you are discussing it.. but apparently didn't READ it.

that's what we , the pro gun crowd, need uninformed arguers.

there's a a huge list of exemptions. notice tube feed SA are exempted.

a.so .. you need to look at the difference in a SA and a revolver. and then think about removeable magazine.

Just 7 bullets in mag of 10, is the law, if you get caught , arrested and confiscation of guns. According to the way law reads any over 10 is banned. Up-state never, never votes this stuff in because they throw up-state in with New York City and because they have a much higher population then us up-state we always get trampled over because of vast difference in populations. Upstate always looses even though we have always had rifles and side arms for hunting and protection we just get out- voted by the politicians from New York City. It's always been that way we don't like it and never did , just don't have a enough votes to change it.We in up-state N.Y. hunters and believers of The 2nd Amendment just got the biggest screw job in my years of living there. I truly feel sick over it. So many of us spend the three days that we knew about this bill , writing to every and all politicians voicing our oppositions to this gun grabbing law, it did no good. The best of luck to all the other states, but as we all know monkey see monkey do.

Thanks for the report, hopefully it will cool down and the price gouging will slow down shortly.

Did hear one of the vendors that goes to most of the shows in this state, (I think) not just some individual. He said that was the "most people he has seen at a show ever"!!!! I would have to say that it was the most I had seen either. Not sure what most were after but at say 1pm it had opened up a bit, just a bit. Still had to wait for folks to get out of way to even walk and most of the time it was just how fast the line moved determined your speed. The Georgia arms (the guys that load their own ammo and sell reloading stuff) Was packed and I spend an hour there buying my ammo and cast bullets. I think most were here at their booth to get their pistol and 223 ammo in bulk that they could not buy at local stores. Even If you were there 2 hours after opeing you could pretty much get what you wanted from them.

Georgia arms has basically stop taking orders on the web and show "out of all inventory " online and say 2-4 weeks behind on orders. I called them prior to this show to assure that they would be there and had inventory. The woman that answered told me they pretty much shut the web site down and don't take web orders right now. I think there doing this so that they have inventory for the shows which Is pretty much the staple of their business, they go to all the big shows here in the South east.

Soundguy, this conversation is just about magazines, not sa, or tube fed, just sidearm magazines. This is the third draft and it keeps changing as we speak, The state police has a different perspective then the GUV's office and vice versa. Actually the Guv forgot the police in N.Y. S. Funny thing our police do do not have CCW permits it's on there badge, if they loose badge they loose guns. Q: How has the law changed for magazines?
A: Since the federal assault weapons ban in 1994, it has been illegal in New York State to buy, for any gun, a detachable magazine, manufactured after the law took effect, that can contain more than ten rounds. This law does not change that. Starting April 15, 2013, only magazines that contain 7 rounds or less will be sold in New York, including permanently modified magazines. Q: Going forward, what magazines can I buy?
A: As of April 15, 2013, only magazines that can contain 7 rounds or less will be sold in New York, including permanently modified magazines. Just tried to go to web and it has been taken down , maybe for modification? Page not Found
