"CW's post reeked of just that from the way it was started."

I agree, icat

BUT, it was just gettin to the nitty gritty, when it was yanked. I bet, with in 2 more days, we would have known the 'real' story.

No doubt, I'd like to know that as well. Always best to know as much as you can about what is and isn't allowed. I find it hard to believe that ______ (insert your tractor brand here) would risk the bad publicity surrounding a warranty issue unless they felt they were being taken advantage of. I mean really, what would it have cost ______ to have replaced the part? I know in my business I've had a few "hard cases" demand stuff that's just simply unreasonable. We usually cave just to make the customer happy - but I'd sure like to tell a few of them where the door is (bite tounge and hold breath). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

RaT:

Be careful, you will get locked out too!!
I really wanted to have that thread play out. Cowboydoc said the guy was his neighbor and he was aware of the whole story. I really want to know as Paul Harvey says: "The rest of the story"

You know that I love my "Kubby just like you do. I love my Jd's and my IH's too. it's just that I like running the Kubota more. It never ceases to amaze me how power packed the 5030 is. My neighbor and I were round bailing wheat straw 2 days ago and when you round wheat straw, you "crush" it with the bailer while the bale is forming. If the straw is a little damp, say early in the morning or late at night, it will form a bale easier but it takes alot of power. I had the NH set as the largest possible setting with maximum tension on the forming rolls. As the bale grew, so did the power drain. I had to keep bumping the throttle to hold the rpm at 540. Only once did I have the throttle on the stop, but I did find the end, so to speak, of the power the Kubota will make. I just came in from finishing round bailing 2nd cut. I ran a 10 acre field in rounds and used about 6 gallons of diesel and that was with my "modified air conditioning" going full blast. The 5030 is fun to run. I leave the other tractors parked except for row crop duties. Maybe next Kubota will be a M9000 model and I'll sell the Jd's and Ih's. I probably be the bain of the neighborhood.

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

I don't think that was his first post on the internet, remember, he did say he had as many as 50 other people with Kubotas who were turned down on warranty issues like fuel pumps etc. and I detailed that those items are warranted under emissions for 5 years due to defects. Now I live in California, with over 30 million people, tons of agriculture everywhere, and lots of tractors and 1 lousy governor. I doubt that unless I went to a website labled Kubota warranty problems I could get to know 50 folks with Kubota warranty problems much less 50 folks with Kubotas. I do get out, but not to the extent that I could get to know that many folks with such similar issues. I have 5 immediate neighbors. 1 JD, 2 Kubotas, 1 Yanmar and 1 Iseki. The biggest issue that has been brought up was with the JD and bad battery cable ends that for no apparent reason corrode about as fast as alka seltzer dissolves. Hardly worth hauling it to the dealer to repair.

On the other hand, I frequent a photography website and pick up the info there but never touch the posts. I think photographers, at least those using internet chat sites have got to be some of the most dogmatic, opinionated folks to walk the earth. It's horrible. Makes the worst day here seem like a grand and glorious delight. Rat...

I got into it online with a photographer once, and he actually threatened me with the line "if you ever come to my studio I won't take your picture." Wow, now that's a threat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"Cowboydoc said the guy was his neighbor and he was aware of the whole story"

I don't think that was the case, Cowboydoc was referring to a case (I've actually heard now 3 times) about a neighbor with a Bi-Steer problem (no, not a cow that goes both ways Daryl) that was never resolved. I too have some stories, but I'll just keep those to myself. Rat...

Dave, I think it's time for another call, or two or three.... squeek until that wheel gets greased.

P.S. Now is as good a time as ever to sell that BX and go for the 2210. I was told by Carver's to never wait to sell if you intend to sell, it will only loose it's value. My L48 sold fast and I did very well.

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

RaT, I was fast enough on the print finger to get a copy of CW’s reply/documentation. After carefully reading it, some of the ways he says things bothers me also. I do not like the fact that he hits and runs with the lead off sentence “This will be my last post”. Also, the phrase “However, in our experience and testing…” This sounds like he is cutting and pasting from some unnamed source. So I went to the Kubota’s web site and sent an e-mail to Kubota to try to see if there is any legitimacy to this complaint. I gave them the serial # of the BH and hope they at least will respond back. Anyway, this will at least also give me a chance to see how Kubota communicates with its potential customers. I am not using CW’s post in making a decision on whether or not to buy Kubota. I know everyone loves the tractors. I’ll let you know what Kubota says.

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

Hi Mark - hope this isn't too far off the topic - but reading down thru this thread reminded me of another thread where I thought Kubota's true colors were proudly displayed. The thread describes a new M6800 that was popping out of gear - and what Kubota did to fix it. The thread is HERE and shows beyond a doubt how Kubota backs its products.

I remember when Red Barber was asked about some hapless sports figure whose luck had soured, he'd always recount the guy's finest hour.

Take care, and sorry if I'm missing the point. Dick B.
