How many hours are on your B26 Sam Walton? The reason I ask is you are pretty forgiving considering your machine is only 1 year old. If it has 2000 hard hours on it I'd be forgiving too but if it has 200 hours I'd be really disappointed with the performance.

We have 92.8 hours on it and just began using it after our land purchase on September 30 of 2008. I have pushed our tractor to see what it will take while it is under warranty. We purchased it under a very special deal and were required to complete the purchase before the end of 2007. We paid $27191.47 for the Tractor with Thumb, backup alarm, Aux Lights, Horn and Back Hoe pads, also no tax and free delivery. If you had followed some of the work we have completed with our tractor you would have nothing but respect for this great machine. I hate to complain about anything with my b-26 as it is a great machine, but if there is anything I would change it would be the foot control for the thumb. I wish it were mounted on the joystick levers like some of the larger machines. My foot control seem's to stick on in either position and does not want return back to center without some help which is awkward. My dealer say's there is nothing to adjust or lubricate because of it's design and that it should get better with time. I was wondering if anyone has this same problem and if there is a solution as mine seem's to be getting worse with time.
Thank's
Chase

I don't care for the thumb pedal but we have no issues withit sticking. You should get your dealer to correct you problem. My dealer has been great for correcting any and all issues.

92.8 hours! I don't know where to start Sam. I had my tiny BX1800 for 1200 hours and worked it as hard as you for much of that time with NO breakage. I did however treat it very well during the break in period as recommended in the manual and did regular maintenance. Perhaps working them hard from hour one gives the machine some right to breakage. You've certainly reinforced my opinion that buying used is a risky decision. I suspect that extreme use in the early hours of a tractors life won't just result in repairs under warrantee but will plague the tractor through out the machines life well after the warrantee runs out. I'll be interested to watch your posts on the B26 as you rack up real hours.

I followed the break-in guide lines and kept the engine RPMs low but varied. I greased regularly and replaced all fluids and filters at 50 hours and well as up grading the hydraulic fluid to the Super UDT, which has a much greater thermo performance. So I can tell you our B26 is well taken care but it was purchased for a mission and what we are doing could not be accomplished by a lesser machine. It would not matter how hard you work a machine either it has the strength or it simply doesn't. When you purchase a TLB series you pay a large premium but with this you are purchasing Kubota's construction grade tractor with much higher hydraulic Pump capacity, which equates too much heavier lifting and digging forces. The TLB series are for serious repetitive backhoe operations. As for working our tractor hard I see no problem with using the lifting or digging to its limits whether during lower RPMs during break-in or at higher RPMs after break-in. Our dealer's service department stated the problems we had were not unusual and would have occurred after the warranty expired if we would not have used it as it was intended. Your statement that you work your BX1800 as hard as our B26 is simply not possible.

Of course there is a difference between the little BX and B26. The B26 should be a stronger more powerful machine. Now to me power is not limited to output but also the ability to survive hard pushing without breaking. You pushed the B26 hard as you could for 100 hours and I did the same with the BX for 1200 hours the only difference was the B26 broke with few hours on it and the BX stood the test of time. I wouldn't rate your experience a positve review of the performance of a B26. I'm not suggesting you didn't do your fair share in proper maintenance. I'm just saying a broken machine at 100 hours used in a fashion it was intended to be used used is not acceptable.

sorry but I missed the part that got broke?

Anyhow, the 1300lbs was my selling/buy point. CuZ I need to move 1400lbs in the Shop. lei's See how she holds up. Judging from Sams Pic's I'll be fine.

I haven't weighed anything but some of the stones I have lifted with the loader and the back hoe with thumb are unbelievable. You will be very surprised especially after break-in when you can take the RPMs up, the strength improves greatly.

Yeah I wasn't aware of the 50hr. break in, oops. But a five minute ride around the yard shouldn't hurt .
As far the thumb; hottest thing Since Sliced bread.
