OK... Neighbor want's to re-seed a horse pasture. I have the means to do such. NORMALLY when I do a pasture seeding, I ask the owners to furnish their own seed, or to at minimum, spec what they want. (Liability issue....)
No such luck with Tom.... He's kinda "not real up on the subject".
Now I'm in the middle of it...
We'll be seeding 16 acres total. Old saddlebred (2, sometimes 3) He doesn't want ANY clover, no Alfalfa, And at the very least, endophite-free fescue. Timothy and Orchardgrass are his preferred grass's.
We live in north-central Kentucky. (Near Louisville) Winters are cold and wet, summers are hot, dry, and humid.
Now the question..... What would you horse owners recommend as far as a "pasture mix" for seeding such. I've already got some advice (from the folks who SELL the seed) as far as rate per acre. (They suggest 25 lbs per acre)
It will be applied with a power seeder (slit seeder)
OK guys, let's hear what you have to say....
(Thanks in advance)
