Rain or shine Vermeer will be baling and the CCM drum mowers will be shown in action. Those off brands like John Deere, NH, Vicon, Hesston, New Idea, Fella & Claas will be there too.

As of July 12, 03 Carter & Carter Machinery has sold 79 New Vermeer balers in 2003. Vermeer has a market share of 83% in our area. Take any 10 John Deere dealers & total their round baler sales and their total will not exceed much more than half of our sales. Where else can you get a NEW 5'x4' baler, loaded with features the others don't have, baling a 1,200 LB bale in dry hay, with 40 HP for $11,500 ? Vermeer is the only MFG to do this. JD & NH are $2,000-$4,000 more for a 4'x4' baler. The Rebel 5400 will bale haylage and both JD & NH will not, they require special models. We are undefeated in hay shows and last year the JD 457 was closest to Vermeer, 270 Lbs lighter in the 5'x4' competition. We used a NH3930 45 HP tractor. JD used a 70 HP tractor. The JD457 has a 55 horsepower minimum. The NH- BR740 has a 60 HP minimum. Why do JD and NH need more HP to bale a lighter bale? Yes those other brands will bale hay but why settle for less than a Vermeer.

I know, I know you sell Ver'whatchamacallit, but you are way off base on the price of the New Holland.

I bought a brand new 638 last fall from J&R Tractor in Monroe, Michigan. The DELIVERED PRICE was $11,200.00. That's freight included and delivery to the farm.

The NH638 is a good 750LB baler. We trade for them all the time. The NH638 has been discontinued but the new BR730 is the same baler with some sheet metal changes. You could have purchased a Vermeer Rebel 5400 for the same money with a 35% larger bale 1200LBS, 40 HP min., Hay Saver wheels, 80 degree CV PTO with clutch, 11LT-15 highway speed rated flotation tires, hydraulic belt tension, & 800 LBS more steel than the NH638.

You most certainly do have a hard head, don't you. I run a 638 because I sell rounds to the Amish. 750-850 pound rounds can be handled by them. Above that is no sale. Seeing as how you think you have the best product and deal on the block...., I'll bite. You are going to sell me a Ver'whatchamacallit for the SAME PRICE AS MY 638 right? As we get into this I'll be happy to fax you the original invoice.

Oh, and you are going to deliver it to me in Deerfield, Michigan, no charge?

You know bud, I don't think so. Besides, yellow dosen't go with green and it might go with orange but I'm not sure. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Just one other thing. As you take NH on trade, I want 10K for my 638. It's always stored inside, greased and well maintained. Let me know when you want to deliver, I'll have a Certified check waiting for you, or CASH if you prefer.

I'd say it's time to put up or you know what.

The Vermeer 5400 Rebel will bale any size bale from 3'-5' tall & 4' wide. There are 3 Vermeer dealers listed in your area and they will all sell one at these prices if asked. Check you history and you'll see that Vermeer invented the large round baler. NH did not have a belt baler till the mid-1990's. NH still kept pushing the chain balers. The NH600 series baler uses old Vermeer technology that was last sold in 1985. I guess these Johnny come lately MFG's have a long way to go and have to wait for the patents to expire just to start to catch up with Vermeer.
