I have found this on criags list and it is listed as a hay elevator. Does anyone know how it works? I think it picks up the bale and slides it down the path to your trailer. Does anyone know the proper name?

yes thats what i call a popup bale loader.you hook it to the side of your trailer an pull it along,an it picks up the bales an puts them on the trailer.once you learn how to run 1 of them it saves time loading a hay trailer.but you have to make sure the bales are laying right an straight tobe picked up by the loader.

We used these to load straight trucks years ago. The trucks held 200 to 300 hundred bails of hay or straw. I believe the one we had was made by Henry. The picture shown is in the transport position. It lays down on the 2 upright bars for use. In that position its has a bracket that mounts to the truck or trailer. 1 driver and 1 or 2 people on the truck can easily load it. They worked very well and did save in labor. Sometimes a person would walk the field first to ensure the bails were straight and also combine 2 or 3 rows depending on the number of bails.
