Hay running up the belts on my JD 457 baler

/ Hay running up the belts on my JD 457 baler #11
If you decide to weld on rod on starter roll one can leave bead a little rougher when baler is twine only. Ever baler that I've welded on starter roller helped core formation and almost eliminated any hay from running up front of belts & bridging.

Jim,
Going to try to build those bars up tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'd also suggest to weld 16'' rods the same diameter between existing rods on each outer end of starter roll. These extra 16'' rods cover width of both outside belts on each side. Good luck I think you'll see an improvement in less hay bridging up front of belts. Does your baler have Mega-wide pickup? If so I spot welded dots on the rear of the PU rotors that helped increase the feeding capability in slick grass hay.
