There are so many trucks hauling hay this way but they don't grind it up. They haul in the bales and sell it by the bale. Round bales are going well over $100. Normally about $55 or $60.

Transportation costs are what determine the final sale price. Having a truckload brought up from Beaumont, the shipping alone is $750. Drought is expensive.
The reason they are grinding it is for space reasons. One other organization thats doing this uses an old chip trailer and then unload with a tractor and grapple and rebale it i in a stationary baler. They will also give out some loose hay.
