We have posted a video playlist of our 2008 hay season over on YouTube which covers several different pieces of equipment we used. There is over 30 minutes of video covering the various steps in the process from start (cutting) to finish (stacking bales in the barn). Below is a link if you guys are interested in checking it out. We will be filming the 2009 cutting soon - let us know if there are any shots you guys would like to see and we will do our best to get some footage to share.

Excellent stuff.
What 4WD tractor are you using for the mower and baler?

Thanks for watching.

The tractor is a New Holland model TN65. The front end loader is a Bush Hog model M446.

too bad pasture grass isint worth messing with around here, I do alot of brush hogging of fields around here and some are 20-30 acres of 3' tall grass but at $1.50-$2 a bale for squares it isint worth messing with, good videos though feel free to check out mine YouTube - spoolinaround's Channel

when you do not have the baling equipment and would have to hire it out plus load them up, take them to auction a hour away, unload, and stack, spend half a day fiddle farting around to make $100.... like I said for me it is too much hassle but for someone that has the stuff and the help and time to do it $2 a bale might be a gold mine.

2$ a bale you are loosing money unless folks are picking it up them selves. I see the TN has the tires set as wide as they will go, are there hills around?

Are we talking about small squares?

Like a 40-50 lb bale?

Thanks for watching.

There are some sections which require the extra width of the TN65 in this particular meadow that hay is taken from. The wheels on the TN65 have one more setting before they are at the maximum width.

Great videos, I have never seen the haying process in action. Seeing the round bales come rolling out of the baler in this video at about 2:00 minutes gives me an idea. We just need some really large bowling pins and a little steeper hill, I'm thinking Olympic Sport! :D
