Yeah - round baling on hills can have its moments. This bale ended up resting next to a stump just off the field and we were able to retrieve it no problem.

Thanks for watching -

It is always neat watching someone else work;). What size bale does the NH 632 make? I usually try to back up and turn during the wrapping sequence to try and eject he bale where it will not roll(notice I said try:)). If you get a big bale rolling down a hill like that it can be rough on pu's, fences, ect.:).

Great videos, I have never seen the haying process in action. Seeing the round bales come rolling out of the baler in this video at about 2:00 minutes gives me an idea. We just need some really large bowling pins and a little steeper hill, I'm thinking Olympic Sport! :D

Ha that reminds me of something.

I work for a contractor and theres one field I baled last year with a round baler, which was shaped like a valley, with both edges sloping down. The owner asked for me to aim all the bales to the middle of the field, to save time when he came to pick them up

That was a laugh. We normally make a conscious effort to reverse so as the bale will land on flat ground when we eject them, as most people tend to value their fence's integrity.

Also if you don't eject the bale on the flat and it rolls, it is a right PITA if it decides to stop in the middle of a windrow, especially if it is wet heavy silage

Edit: Oh and another one I can remember last year was some really fluffy hay on a windy day, a bale got away and managed to follow the line of the windrow down the field, and kind of spread the windrow over an area of about 15 foot. I was not happy when I had to drive back and fourth 'hoovering' the area up.

I guess it is not as bad as when the tying / netting sequence goes wrong and you just get a lump of hay come out the back when you eject, and then have to kind of slowly gnaw your way back through it with the pickup :D

Oh the joys of baling...

The NH 638 baler that was being used makes a 4x4 bale which weighs around 750 lbs.
