Haybine Header Float Spring Repair

I have broken the float springs on my header float. They all broke at the same length so I want to repair them. How do I get the cast iron end threaded into the spring?

Screw them in. They go in a lot easier than they come out because the springs tend to open up a little as you screw the plugs in. Trying to screw them out tightens the spring coils tighter on the plugs.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I could just screw them in without stretching the spring.
