Hmmmm $5.00/bale- 2000 bales = $10,000. If you buy it you can be picky, no worry about it getting rained on, equipment breaking down, help showing up, or fertilizer, etc to apply. Now I ask myself why I do it.... because it is REALLY fun and it can be profitable. We use 55 HP tractors (but don't cut hay with one) and they seem to do fine, maybe a little undersized but they do the job.
