JD 1025R, HD60 mid mount mower.

Reading the manual (OMLVU26521 H2), I follow all the steps.

All works fine until it is time to lift the mower and set the height adjustment. Then it becomes clear that the rear lock tab is not seated against the rear lift arm rod. In fact, the rear lift arms are NOT fully engaged in the rear lock assembly. Of course, the front draft link pivot pin is not fully engaged in the front support hangers. Repeated attempts to get this task done have been unsuccessful, if not entertaining.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of problem?

I've been at this for four days, on and off. Tomorrow, Monday, I'll call the dealer and see what they have to say.

At the front of deck. The bar that hooks to front of tractor. Are the nuts even? Like same distance down in threads? Send a pic if you can. Start with backing them to the very end and install deck. Seat it all the way on. Where tab will flip up and lock. Then you need to adjust the nuts on the front. You want about a small washer gap from back of bar to the inside hook part in tractor. You understand what in talking about ??

Yes, I understand.

I'll give it a try.

Thanks!

So, I ran out the nuts on the front draft link.

Try as I might, I cannot get the mower deck to seat in the fully locked position. IMG_0687.JPGIMG_0686.JPGIMG_0685.JPGIMG_0684.JPG

Hmmm is it going in to gearbox correct in center? Something isn't lined up right.

Is the deck wheels all the way up and deck hard in ground? Is the arms all the way down for install under tractor?

Deck wheels are all the way up. The front of the mower deck is plowing a nice, narrow, farrow in the blue-stone drive way.

The arms are all the way down and the blade height control is in the "Install" position.

At least the sun is shining and the birds are chirping.

Lol man I'm trying to think of all the steps and I believe we have covered it. Hmmm it's something and I'm thinking .... it's probably something very simple but I don't know what ....

On top of the mower deck, in front of the gear box, is a ?spline? ... a slotted shaft that is supposed to fit into the receiver of the mid-mount PTO. Is that shaft supposed to fit all the way into the receiver? When I look at it from underneath the tractor, it appears to be only two thirds of the way inserted. There doesn't appear to be any obstructions in/on either the male or female ends, but I've never looked there before and I cannot say for sure that it is correct.

In any case, I'll call local dealer tomorrow morning and get an appointment to get it repaired ... and maybe an extra 10-15 minutes for customer (that's me!) orientation and training.

I'll let you know what I find out.
