Looking for some ideas. My stock headlight grill is breaking itself apart. Has a few cracks in it and from the hood shaking when the engine running its starting to self destruct. So I made some calls and called Fredericks who told me that the version they had was a reproduction version made from steel instead of plastic like the original and that I would need to do some slight grinding to reattach the existing lights. Perfect I said. In my discussion with Fredricks they mentioned this is the same one Hoye sells. Even more perfect because I had to place an order with Hoye so I added it to the order. What I got was plastic and the lights will definitely not fit in the holes. Which is clear as day as a note on the Hoye website.
So, I am thinking...I return the one to Hoye and order the steel one from Fredricks - So I call Fredricks and they said whooppps, we made a mistake, we only carry they plastic one (same as what I got from Hoye). So now I have a $70 grill and need to order another $90 in lights that will fit.
Now, I like the tractor to be complete and try to fix things as they come up, but having to spend $160+ on a grill and lights that I hardly ever use and really don't provide much light especially with a loader installed is just crazy in my opinion.
So, enough of my ramblings.....I need a used one or if anyone has any wild ideas that would work please let me know. I would not mind upgrading the lights to LED's to get more usable light, but as far as I can see no one makes a replacement LED bulb.
Btw, I called around for a used one; Jamiesons (left a message), Fredricks, Mid South Salvage, and West Kentucky, and Schaeffers all with no luck. Any ideas guys?
