HEADLIGHTS ON when its nasty out...

I have found over the years that with most new and a lot of used cars the headlights are not aimed properly right from the dealer. That just adds to the aggravation.

Makes you wonder what all those dealer PDI charges are for !

The charges are to scrape off the QC stickers and retorque the wheel nuts. I have seen cars come out of GenAuto Shippers in Oshawa with the wheel nuts on finger tight.

Forum threads where all the posters agree with the OP's stance are way too boring to read. Who is going to say that driving without your lights on in bad weather is a bad idea? There are no new or conflicting ideas to ponder here, so I skipped from page one to page nine to post this completely useless message, but then, most of mine are...

Compromise: One light on, one light off.

Seeing as we are going to go that route....Go ahead and drive in a snowstorm with your headlights off and don't bother crying the blues when you get hit, possibly head on.

Yes this is a common problem that has blinded me before.

When they introduced day time running lights, it was for a **** good reason, and now all of a sudden they aren't required anymore. Cant imagine why, since they DO work, even on a sunny day, never mind a snowy day....and i suspect that people that dont use their head lights, are the same one that dont use signal lights either, which is plain ignorant and careless.

Can't signal with one hand on a cell phone and the other on the steering wheel and their head up their azz.

a little off topic, but related to auto lighting,,
who's bright idea (no pun intended) was it to have back up lights come on
when somebody locks a car? I have seen this many times while trying to park in a
crowded parking lot, you see the back up lights thinking the car is going to back out,
and the spot will open up, but nope, nobody in the car! they have locked the car
and walked away, and the lights are all on, including the back up lights... very annoying~!

Been faked out by same Dutch. Given the # of people that just throw a car in reverse, and back up w/o looking, makes for a slow mall crawl.

Another lighting "advancement" is the vehicles that turn Off the headlight on that side, when you turn on that turn signal.

Might be tolerable in city night driving, but it's not something I'd own.
