"However I am constantly losing cotter pins on the back, especially the big ones on the drawbar that hang under."

Cool, I'm not alone. I replaced one of those big drawbar cotters with OEM and then the next time one dissapeared it was/is replaced with a framing nail bent over on each side to hold it. Both of them are that way. I also started replacing the spring cotters on the rear linkages with real fold over cotter pins and then when I ran out of those I moved on to galvanized wire tied in a safety wire style.

All machines have bolts that loosen. My old 1972 international dozer was constantly having bolts back out. I would replace them or tighten them as part of routine maintenance and greasing. It is expected that things will loosen up. I also expect that after a lot of hours if a bolt has held it will continue to hold and I stop checking it. Time will tell if the Kioti bolts will act this way since I haven't gotten to the "lots" of hours point. Not for a 1000 more.

Put the pin in from the bottom up. Then put the hair pin or lynch pin on the top. You will never lose another pin that way.

It is your responsibility to check bolt tightness every so many hours. Just like checking oil and coolant levels. Everyone has taking this and blown it out of proportion. Rick Wallace was just tying to provide some valuable info that some already know, but some do not. I personally find it helpful that so many Kioti dealers on here provide great info and advice. Last thing we need as owners is to make these dealers mad and have them stop posting information for fear of being attacked. Give the guy a break, he is just trying to help out. Rick, I appreciate your efforts along with the other great Kioti dealers on here. Thanks for your efforts!! Happy Holidays to all!!!

This can't be right, the main reason I bought my Kioti is cause my dealer said it had Magic bolts that would never break and never come loose!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif He didn't mention anything about that *#@#* little spring on the ROPS pin that is always shooting on to the ground though. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rick,
I (like many of the Kioti owners here) would like to thank you for the reminder.
I will check all of the bolts on the Kioti tractor and loader, the Woods mower deck, the Rhino BH and the Bush Hog cutter this weekend.
I took this post for exactly what it was meant to be, a reminder to check bolts which may come loose during operation.
Now, can someone at Kioti tell me how to get my fat little hand on the rear hydraulic diverter valve without saying words my kids don't need to hear? It takes me longer to open/close that valve than it does to install/remove the BH.
Merry Xmas to all!
Tom

( it will say it is the owners responsibility to check the lug nuts after so many miles...
Is it not the dealer's responsibility to provide a a safe useable product to the consumer ? If something is not right with my tractor after the dealer works on it is it my fault/responsibility that it fails or falls apart in some way ? There are one heck of alot of people who own tractors who aren't mechanics who rely on the dealer to provide them with a safe dependable machine to perform up to their demands. If their are quality issues with kioti (or ant other brand for that matter) why do you in good conscience continue to sell them if you know there are issues ? At least my dealer will take the initiative to make sure he provides a safe, dependable machine for the $$ spent. )

Yes sir, If you were my customer and you brought you machine back to me on a every 50 hour maintaince I would guarentee that you would not have any issues like discussed here.
However this is for the do it your selfer that like to be involved in their own maintance.

Every brand has issues some different some the same.
I feel as a dealer that if we give you a " heads up" there are people that will take the ADVISE and be happy that someone outhere care about their customers after the sale.

I can't beleive that a good piece of ADVISE can get so far blown out of wack.

I think I may just post my ADVISE in the vintage section and then they will understand and appericaite what we are trying to do out here.

For those of you that do understand thank you and I will keep on helping in anyway I can.

It appears "someone" has applied some Dielectric Grease to this post as it seems to be slipping quite badly.

In keeping with the Kioti Forum tradition, I can see another thread, which was meant to be informative, heading for the closed locker.

Rick Wallace, please keep up with the good advice. The majority out here appreciate any advice given from someone with your knowledge. I'm fairly certain that you've seen more tractors and equipment than most of the "posters" on this site. You know, some people just find it easier to be critical than correct. Thanks Wallace
