Yesterday a buddy of mine and I were at the farm store . . . </font>
Dr Watson and Sherlock Holmes need to step up here and start to deduce some things. First, you were at a 'farm store' buying feed and implements. So that means you were not at a regular tractor dealership. In essence you were are a "farm & fleet" type of location. Those places typically sell things like Homier or Farm Pro. I'm just going by the limited information you provided, so I'm going to guess it is one of the Jinma varients. I've seen them in every color under the rainbow including <font color="purple"> purple </font> and for the most part I've seen them only at farm stores and/or the independant sales lots.

Well I also thought lawn tractor might be a possible source of the 'horrible sound' but the comment about his friend being a master mechanic and his reference to diesels made me think that Mike was referring to larger tractors. Obviously I'm just guessing here.
What's small, somewhat fast, orange, and sold by WallyWorld, etc? Something low end by Husqvarna, aka American Yard Products, aka Electrosucks? That would kill jpr62902's MTD theory.
<font color="blue"> Mike never said the tractors were small. </font>
No, but he used the term flying, which I interpret as not a real tractor. You don't usually hear a tractor's movement described as flying, but a lawn tractor -- maybe. That's my theory for now. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
<font color="orange"> Here is my guess. </font> It is available in most colors, but I actually found one being advertised as <font color="orange">"special edition orange"</font> and given the size of Mike's tractor, a Jinma could be considered "small."
