Does anyone use bluetooth to connect your cell phone to your hearing aids? Is it a improvement that is worth buying new hearing aids to get?

Thanks

I have it and it is a nice feature, but I would not upgrade just to get the bluetooth connection.

I've got a pair of hearing aids that I got thru WCB (time related noise injury) and they both have bluetooth capabilities. I don't use the hearing aids as much as I should as I retired a few years back and don't talk a lot...or as much as I used to on the phone.
If I was still working, the ability to converse over the phone without having to hold the phone to my ear or even take it out of my pocket to answer it, would be a great feature. The clarity is great, had no problems with connectivity, I had my truck as primary connection and it would bypass the aids and connect to the truck when I was driving instead of going thru the aids.
The bit that I've used it, it works great, the person on the other end said it sounded fine also. A side benefit is that you can listen to whatever you want, podcasts, radio or whatever, and no one is none the wiser :). They were rechargeable and I'd get over 10-12 hours of use if I remember correctly.

Wife's friend got that option for her husband's hearing aid so she can connect to his device and give him wherefore and whatever. Just saying...

I just upgraded my cochlear implants (A close cousin of hearing aids.). The new units have Bluetooth.

I use them on the smart phone and TV. Absolutely night and day improvement than using the microphones! No question in my mind.

The improvement come from Bluetooth being a higher quality implementation that the older Roger and FM systems. Additionally, not using the hearing aid microphones eliminates them as a source of distortion.

Same results, I just thank God I can hear!

I have Phonaks. I've had them a year or so. Not only is the bluetooth a Godsend but the hearing aids themselves are such an upgrade over my old set of Phonaks that it is truly remarkable. It is a blessing to be able to hear. I think back how great it would have been if my grand daddy could have had a pair of these.

I have great difficultly hearing someone on the phone without the blue tooth connection. My loss is both ears so really is a great improvement. 2nd set of aides I have had with this feature.

Does your provider allow 30 or 60 day trial? That would be the best way for you to determine if they work for you.

I think it probably depends on how bad your hearing is. I have profound hearing loss in both ears. My hearing is so bad I had completely quit talking on the phone. My wife had to make all our business calls. These are my first hearing devices and I am very thankful they have that option. It is the only way I can talk on the phone. You can also route any Bluetooth device to them, TV, etc, which can be handy. It’s certainly worth the money to me. My hearing aids are almost seven years old and need to be replaced, but they are so expensive. When I finally save up enough for a new set, buying a new set of pallet forks tomorrow, they will definitely have Bluetooth.

Good suggestion. The provider may very well have such a program.

At least in the past, there was a requirement that hearing aids be returnable. I believe it was a federal requirement. The trial period was something like 30 days.
