Your so right. I also like the rememberance item. Right now it's the garage door ....after work when I'd open it she'd come running out to greet us. We have a 400 ft drive, so she'd meet us about halfway. Always so happy to see us. These past few days I've hated going home and opening that door knowing Reilly's not there to come running out.

Thanks Riptides,
Best of luck with your two new pups. I'll admit it, I had actually thought about getting another Dane as a companion for Reilly. They are so big they have a hard time playing with littler dogs. ....maybe in two years I'll be ready again ...but for now I know I don't even want to think of it.

Also, a big thanks to the folks that pm'd me their thoughts and best wishes. Here is something I received which put a big lump in my throat (feel like I've had one there all week!)

LEND ME A PUP

I will lend to you for awhile,
a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and mourn him when he's dead.

Maybe twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three.
