Chad, that is really compact and a small heater core is more than adequate. Do you have a provision to send heat directly to the glass area?

I have plans to add defrost ducts, just no time at the moment. We got about a foot of snow last night while plowing it stays so warm the snow just runs of the glass. :)

I like the idea of using a renewable resource. I chose to re-route my exhaust through the cab. It serves two purposes. Keeps the exhaust above the cab when plowing and backing up and provides heat.

Do you have a way to shut it off in the summer?

Since I am not plowing, I put the original muffler back on and it routes out the back.

Hello;

Thank you all for the weaalth of informaation. I especially like the idea of running the exhaust through the cab. Rather then through the cab have the end terminate in the cab?
I spoke with JD service at my local dealer. Was told the JD unit is very good but labor intensive to install. With all of the sites you guys provided I should be able to find something. It looks like an electric unit is out of the question.

thanks, nicholas

Just a word of warning, small planes use exhaust for heat with a heat exchanger. They have carbon monoxide detectors on some of them in case one would develop a crack. Just thought I would mention that with that Y in the cab.
