This has been like this on my tractor since I first got it. I didn't think it was a big deal but it may be related to my fume problem??
On our tractors there are three vents up front by the windshield and two vents on the sides.
When I have my heat on, and switch the control with most of the air coming out of the three vents by the windshield it's hot and cold air coming from these vents at the same time.
The hot air is going through the heater core and the cold air is being sucked in from somewhere else otherwise the air would only be luke warm.
When I switch it to the side vents it's only luke warm air coming out from the side vents and no cold air mix coming out of the front.
I'd like to know if this Is normal or maybe I have a diverter door or something not working.
There is plenty of heat but holding your hand at these vents you can also feel cold air coming out with force, A/C is off.
Thank you for any info.

I never made any attempt to look at the system when i had my headliner out...... so i can only tell you what i've experienced. With the heat on (like should be in winter) i always get good hot air coming out of the three vents blowing on the windshield. When using the two over the doors at the same time, the air coming out of them is only luke warm. Its never been any problem , since it can get too warm in there anyway...... but i never get actual hot air out of the vents over the doors.

Thanks Ductape
Maybe that's just normal on the sides over the doors. Luke-warm

I forgot to add that you're not the only one who waxes your wheels, I do too. And I also Armor-All the tires too. :D
I also don't have the problem in the other post where you're getting cool air out of the vents when the heat is on so I don't think that's normal either.

Does anybody else have a B3030 cab with luke warm air coming out of the vents above the doors,
So far we have two with luke-warm and one with hot air coming out.
anybody else??
I think Ductape yours is 2008 model isn't it ?

Earl Oh! Are you sure it's just as hot on the sides as the front? I don't want to take it all apart if it's normal. Looking at the manual looks like the complete roof has to come off to get at it.
I enjoy waxing the tractor and keeping it nice I think the cab makes me want to take care of it more, although if I didn't have a nice heated garage and workshop I probably wouldn't wax it every day.:D:D

No, mine is an 05 , i bought it used. I just figured somehow the air coming out above the doors didn't pass directly through the heater core? When i had my headliner out, it was still A/C season..... so i was unaware of the difference in temp between the front and side vents. In any event, its not a problem for me since its usually too warm in the tractor anyway. I'm frequently either turning the heat down, or opening a window. If you decide to look into it and find a defect, i'd be interested in hearing about it. I don't see me looking too far into it at this point, since i don't find the amount of heat an issue (or at least a lack of heat is no issue!;)).

Ductape , I also have plenty of heat in mine and have to turn it down after time.
But what puzzles me is the cold air entering the front vents with the heat.
Next time your out in the tractor do me a favor and just hold your hand over each of the three front vents , On mine the middle one is all hot heat, the two end ones in the front cold air and heat at the same time. You may of not noticed this it if you haven't checked. The funny thing is it's all the same ductwork.
On mine it's sucking cold air from somewhere.

I'll check it out next storm. I've aimed the front vents, but never noticed any cold air from them. I also havent played around with the controls alot. Several people have suggested running the A/C at the same time as the heat to cut down on the fogging of the windows....... which i will also try. I hate to have that work too well and nix my excuse for the rear view camera though..........

Hello,
I have had my tractor now for 3 years and have noticed the following.
A/C mainly comes out really cold on the side vents and ok cold on the three window vents. Heat comes out screaming hot (assuming warm engine) on the three window vents and medium warm on the side roof vents. the little door vents don't seem to be excessively hot at all no matter what direction you try and blow things on. If you want more heat out the sides you can manipulate the three front vents so that they do not flow that much air at all out and you will noticed improved flow on the window and side vents.
If you switch modes with the fan on high speed the blend doors may not seat all the way. I have always switched modes wit the fan on low and have not had issues with excessively cool air coming into the vent system. You may also want to check your fresh/ recirc knob above your head on the rear to see if you are sucking in cold air or re heating cab air.
Engine spped and engine temperature play into the heat factor as well. if the temperature gauge is not at least up off the "C" by a 1/4" you may not have enough BTU's available to offset the cold air you are trying to heat. I ususally cover half the radiator with cardboard to aid in getting the thing warm and also allowing enough cool air to keep the hydro and the A/C condensor happy.
Have fun and stay warm
Jeff

I'll be sure and check the next time I use the tractor, but I never noticed the difference in air temp from the front to the side vents. I'll try & do that this weekend, so don't go tearing yours apart right away!
Also, I forgot about something when I was posting the other day. I did have one other problem besides the seat issue. At the 50 hr. service I changed all of my fluids & in order to change the front axle fluid I removed the front wheels. When I re-installed the front wheels I torqued the lug nuts. I forget right now what the torque is supposed to be, but I remember double checking with the shop manual at the time. The left front lug nuts torqued OK, but 5 of the right front lug nuts stripped out before I got them torqued to spec. Canns-Bilco gave me 12 new studs & nuts & would even have come out to replace them free of charge. But they are so easy to replace that I did them myself in about 45 mins. I was a school bus mechanic for almost 27 yrs before retiring so I know how to do a lot of this stuff. That's why i did the repair myself instead of having Canns-Bilco come out. Well, that & I needed the tractor to cut grass or I would have had to use the other tractor without A/C for a day or 2. Has anyone else had this happen? I figure it was just a bad couple of studs &/or lugnuts.

Thanks Earl Ohl I would appreciate you letting me know. I had my front wheels off twice before and I used an 1/2 impact gun on and off then torqued by hand to 65 ft lbs. I didn't have a problem. Maybe you should get the torque wench checked out before using again, even the good ones need to be calibrated every so often. I did my front axle change at 300 hrs , I hope that wasn't a mistake but I just double checked my Kubota 3030 shop manual it said 300 hrs for the first front axle fluid change, it was pretty dirty. The B3030 sure is a nice tractor.
