Heat source for BX cab

/ Heat source for BX cab #11
I have a B26 with an open cab and I live in the mountains so it gets really COLD, down to minus 25c. I installed a heated car seat pad that my daughter didn't want. You'd be surprised at how just a pad can keep your bum and back warm. Before that I had the vinyl seat and man, my rear end (not the B26s :D) did not like that. I installed a cigarette lighter type plug off the light circuit so it's only live when the lights (and ignition) are on. My fingers still get cold so heated gloves would the cat's ***.

I have an Original Cab soft cab on my BX. They only heat I use is a microwaveable stadium seat. It cooks my buns and gives me around 2 hours of comfort in the cab. The biggest saviour is stopping the snow from blowing all over you. There's still some once in a while when windy but that's OK. I cut some car carpet to block the air being pulled in under the seat and use a moving blanket, some pipe weatherstripping to seal up the any air penetration. As someone posted, you'll need a vinyl cover console BUT when you do this you will need to remove two plastic pieces around the bottom of the console to allow air to come into the engine from below (since you just blocked the inside air with vinyl.)

Yes sometime I wish I had a heater core and fan but then, I' just have to remove and install it each season. And the LavaBuns seat really does work!
