Re: Heat stroke isn\'t cool...
Harv - Thanks for the post. That was an interesting experience you related, too. My first experiences since "changing my ways" have been very positive, though I haven't had opportunity (thankfully!) to test it in quite such extreme conditions that made me sick in the first place. I did work a couple of days in low-to-mid-90's temps with mid-to-high-90's humidity and I felt so much better at the end of the day it was incredible. I'm going to be very careful to drink plenty of Dr. RCH's "solution" from now on, I can tell you. One of the days I'm referring to, I drank 6 of those 52-oz "Xtreme Gulps" full - one with using Karo, and the others using NutraSweet-based flavorings. I also found that I maintained my ability to eat normally - usually when I work in those conditions, I don't eat because I'm not hungry, which makes the other problems worse, of course. But "the solution" seems to fix all that. FWIW, I've found that Crystal Light makes some stuff called "Body Quencher" that contains about 10% of a bunch of vitamins and minerals in a couple of different flavors and only 5 calories that works very well. I use it most of the time now, though there are some NutraSweet Cool-Aid mixes that taste pretty good with the salt and baking soda added.
