Do you own or run a skidloader?

I own a mid size Deere and can handle that pallet, it would be a cake walk for a bigger Deere.

You got to keep in mind how these machine are rated before you can comment on safe operating range.

Yes I do, a JD 325 (2500# ROC). Yes, I do understand how they are rated: about half of tipping load. Sure, you can exceed it, but a ss is a short wheel base. On nice flat concrete, you're probably safe handling higher than rated capacity. But get on a bit of an incline or a bump, and they aren't that stable. Can they do it? Yes. "Cake walk"? No.

Ken, ROC on a SS is 33% of tipping load. Handling that pallet at tailgate height is a Cake Walk. :thumbsup:

You are confusing skid steers (SS) with compact track loaders (CTL).

Typically, CTL's are rated a 1/3rd of tipping capacity. SS's are rated at 1/2.

Usually CTL's have higher tipping loads because their track idlers provide support further forward than a rubber tired SS. CTL's tend to be more stable since they have "more rubber on the ground".

I have a Mahindra 7520 rated at 3900 to full height at the pins. There is a gauge added to show pump pressure. The ML275 loader has a SS QA mount and a SS Tilt Tatch on it, which together shift the load 6" or so forward from standard, and add at least 400lbs. I have a 4000# rated fork attachment that has 48" tines. With this on that setup I have worked with 2500# concrete block distibuted evenly on tine length. Curl is at the limit, registering 2500psi. Lift uses about 2000psi. The tractor handles fine with a 1200lb counterweight - a flail centered about 30" behind the 3ph lift eyes. [I dont know whether I had put water in the tires before this or not.]
