As tragic as it is, I couldn't help but laugh a bit.

This is indeed mysterious. I seriously doubt that any naturally occurring gas could accumulate to that extent, or even to the extent that it would have exploded. Most of the port-a-potties I have seen, IIRC, are vented. A eyebrow singing flash back yes; a fatal explosion, unlikely. Even the soda pop bottle bombs made from Drano and Aluminum foil, doubtfully could have exploded with that kind of force. I would be interested to find out how this is finally resolved. Seems to me I have heard of chemical bombs being planted in this manner before, but for what reason I will never know.

How 'exploded' was it if the fire was still going when the Dept got there?

Body found after(?) the fire was put out?

Or someone dumped a tank of stale gas into the Porta-Potty to get rid of it.

Maybe she had eaten at one of Floridas many All-You-Can-Eat Buffets, was highly flatulent (sp?) filled the compartment with methane gas and boom. Some people die easier than others.

Methane is lighter than air hence the porta-potty 4 inch vent pipe. it will go up the pipe and be vented outdoors if any methane is generated by any method. NOW propane is heavier than air and will accumulate low if it cannot escape sideways . So a propane torch unlit and with the valve open and thrown into the "soup" would bubble up and accumulate a big layer of propane that if lit off with a cigarette would blow "he77" out of things for sure.

I know that when I eat at a Swiss Chalet (which I dearly love) I become quite flatulent (sp?) and am probably just an explosion waiting to happen.
