Mitsubishi MT16D, Shibaura 1803
Hello everyone,

just joined this Forum and the ranks of someone who wants to make a living from the land after working in Industry for the past 25 years. I've got a lot to learn and I'm hoping to start some of my education here......

I've just bought a Shibaura 1803 and a Mitsubishi MT16D. I have the same question as Lincoln had about that Mitsie's PAC/MAC 3 point system so any help you, EFC or anyone else can provide with that would be greatly appreciated.

Also looking for information where I could obtain manuals on the tractors. I've just bought a cd off ebay (last night so don't have it yet) on the Ford 1510 that I believe closely resembles the 1803? [Got that information from an earlier thread off here too]. Any other help / advice that anyone might like to add would be very welcome.

In time I hope to be able to offer my hard-earned experience to those requesting it rather than solely acting as a sponge as I am at the moment

Thanks and best regards

Paul Clark

Thanks and best regards

Welcome from across the pond, Paul. Sponge madly until you have what you need - that's the whole point. Well, that and the entertainment that you will find along the way. What will you be growing/raising?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I've got 9 acres 1.5 of which is glass and I'm planning to grow stocks and organic vegetables. I'm lucky because I have a retail shop on my site where I can sell what I grow.

Got lots to learn - starting with weeding. Nothing has grown on the land for the past 5 years except for weeds. I've gone through the entire greenhouse 3 times now in the past 2 months removing mainly thistles by hand. This last time I dug each individual thistle out and attempted to remove anything that looked remotely like a root. Hopefully I'll have purged the land by the time March rolls around.

I've resisted rotatilling up to now because I don't want to convert each thistle root into multiple thistle roots!! Although it's been hard work it is very satisfying to see no weeds in the greenhouse.

Best regards

Paul

Hi from the continent PAUL CLARK,

I don't think You'll have much troubles with the thistles and other weeds owning the "guns" You've mentioned above. Convert them into compost and put into greenhouse.

Wecome to the TBN!
