I just purchased a Ford 1510 tractor which appears to e in real good shape. ( I hope so anyway) Have been reading the forums for a while to get some tipds on what to look for etc.
Naturally the tractor came with no user manual or any other literature for that matter, SO I will be looking for what ever information I can find to assist with going over the tractor to do some service on it, so I will know when it was done, as a reference point.
Any how, I am sure I will have questions regarding using and servicing this tractor as time goes on.

Thanks
Mike

You need to add oil to your injector pump at oil change or every 100 hours.
Search for prior comments and ask if you can't find. Same with cleaning the oil sump strainer if you have one.
Personal opinion is to use a fuel additive like Stanadyne.
Great tractor with dependable engine and transmission/axles.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that this is my first tractor and I am not real familiar with diesel equipment. I have however worked on gasoline motors on my cars since the 70's, so am somewhat mechanically inclined. But as far as diesel engines, I know nothing and am wanting to learn. Just don't want to damage anything as from what I am reading it could get real expensive, real fast. Hence the quest for knowledge and literature.

Sixdogs,

Would appreciate any guidance on checking, draining, and adding oil to the injector pump and Hydraulic System. Have been looking for but only finding info on the 1700 series. Don't know if that info applies or not to the 1510. Please feel free to share any info you can, as I am anxious to service the tractor and have a refrence point. Is there any PDF versions of the Owners Manual and Service Manual available?

I can't right now but if you search my posts from maybe six months ago on a 1900? tractor I think you will find info. A general search would also work.
1710 and 1510,etc all simiar and an owner's manual is likely all you will need. Most Ford, make that New Holland dealers should have a reference copy to look at or copy and you might find one on EBAY.
This series of tractors is nearly bulletproof and all the similar models are similar.
If you can't find anything by tonight let me know.
