Hello from NW Florida

Hello to all!! my name is Earl and i am 50 yrs old,51 come nov. i live in about as rural an area you can find in the east called smithcreek. there are under 100 folks living here and the average age is probably 60-65. i have 2 grandsons, Brady and Hayden and a granddaughter due in jan, she will be named Abby. we plant about 2&1/2 acres of row crops but will probably scale that back some next year after the loss we took due to drout this year. i am putting together a syrup operation so some of that space will be used to expand the cane patch. i am trying to do what i can to pass on some of the dying skills and practices to my grandchildren, that is the main purpose of the syrup operation. i am employed as a maint supervisor at a near by airport over seeing the operation and maintanace of all things mechanical from boilers and chillers to conveyors and boarding bridges. come feb i have been married for 30 years to Michelle and we have one daughter Terri who is 28 yrs old. i found the forum by doing a search for 5105 hydraulics and liked what i saw. my back ground is in hvac so not much experiance with tractors but i am about to get some ojt with hydraulics and electical. i want to thank all for the great forum, the little i have looked at has been impressive.

Earl welcome to the forum. You live in my old stomping grounds. I was in Tallahassee for years and spent a bunch of time in Carrabelle and Wakulla Co.. Still get down there a couple of times a year. Do you work at TLH? My wife is a Delta fight attendant and we get in there now and then.
