2020 Kubota BX1880
I’m up in northern MN, so not always frozen. Been doing some major work around the house and my neighbor has been helping with his JD x728 FEL and it has come in very handy...he always teases me that I should get one. Well I have maybe .6 acre and mow with a toro time master. Takes 2.2hrs about. I had a broken zero turn I fixed and used but with a septic mound hill and the hydro on the turning kind of were finicky, it made mowing more of a chore. So I’ve been contemplating a lawn tractor or rider, but then I started to consider having a FEL to help with the projects on the house and yard. Well no one really makes a Len tractor with a FEL anymore (the simplicity is way too expensive), I did find some after market fel’s for the smaller JD X’s, but I want 4wd to take the hill on. So new I’m at 15-16k. Used I was 9-10k, and financing was pretty good so I’ve been looking at the kubota bx1880. It’s a tad big for what I’ll actually need, but it will probably be nice to have for things I can’t even think of yet. I’ve been cruising forums and YT to see sub compacts, implements, reviews, common issues, if I could get a cheaper brand etc and kept coming back to not wanting to fix an old tractor. Need to save the fixing for all the pinball and arcade games ;) I test drove one Monday and it was pretty smooth. I’d say the only downside was the smell of diesel but it doesn’t bother me.

I’ll need to sell the time master and get a 21-22” mower for the little hard to reach parts. That time master is such a clog master, thing drives me crazy.

I’ll be looking for some mods etc like for holding the weed whip, led headlight bulbs, wheel knob etc. thank you for the welcome and I hope to learn a lot!

Welcome to TBN. Would suggest you begin to looking at tractors and implements and taking pictures and making notes. Look at new and used and think on each tractor, implement how it would physically fit your storage, needs and property. Talk to others with tractors and small property as to what they like, don't like on every aspect. Brand, dealer, getting service, problems with it, implements they use and those they thought they would but don't. This education process will make the owner cost less and happier. Oh, get all the seat time you can helping others with a tractor.

Welcome to TBN!
What kind of mix trees/lawn do you have? Driveway to level or snow plow?
I have a SCUT on 6 acres, my neighbor has a CUT on 7 acres, so different answers based on needs and wallet size!
Good luck with the shopping, see a few dealers, test drive where you can, and get a feel for how the dealers treat you.

Welcome from the UP of MI. Nice to have you here with us northvibe. My spouse is from Ely.

Oh nice! Ely is a nice town. I used to work at the hospital once a week. Blueberry fest is insane though. Does she call the grand ely lodge, the gel? The locals confused me for a very long time on what the gel was.. ;)
