I agree. Top notch dealer. Give him a day or so. The good thing is his service AFTER the sale. He has gone way above and beyond what I expected.

I agree Rick is a nice guy who is looking out for his customers. I spoke with him on the phone last week and he has proven to me that he is the real deal.

Well we had a day from he!!....
My transmission went out of my F250 :mad:so we needed to get it off loaded and back to the shop:ashamed:
Got in at 11 last night from a delivery.
Trust me business is FAR from being good.
We are so far off this year I'm not sure we will ever catch back up.
Usually we would have sold close to 30 tractors by now, I delivered my 4th one last night!
So that is why I am aggressively pricing equipment!

Rick,

Just a thought. Up here one Mazda dealer sells vehicles with total service covered for the ownership of the vehicle or 5 years. Not sure how they do it but they do. It covers parts and labour. All you do is put gas in it. Price is set.

Could this apply to tractors? Of course the Kioti warranty covers 2/5 years automatically but could the dealership pick up costs of labour and or fluids for service for the usual maintenance stuff. Purchaser would have to agree on list price but they would be honored with valued service for x-number of hours/years. Pay up front - worry and pay less over the long haul. Just an idea...

If you guys paid list for the tractors I would do it in a heart beat!
I would include pick up and delivery up to 100 miles with a small charge after the 100 miles also.

Rick,

Spend some time doing the math on this. You may be surprised how many people may opt for this. The purchaser knows the price going in - it's set. They also know the maintenance is included for x-hours/x years so they can be assured of peace of mind and no cash outlay for x many years. It may be a win/win situation for everyone.

I grew up in retail. My families' business did not budge on list price of major items but service went beyond the call of duty - late evenings and weekends. After sale checkups were free and we did everything to make sure the customer was completely happy.
Other dealers sold for less but had to compromise on service and customer satisfaction.

Of course the old adage of 'wants' and 'needs' applies. If I really want it - price is not usually an issue. The maintenance program would be the deal clincher.

Trouble is that routine service is only one of the expenses of owning a tractor. Don't forget about the stuff that gets broken due to operator error etc.

It might be reasonable for someone like Rick to offer a "paid in advance" routine service package for 200 or 400hrs. He'd have the money in pocket and the buyer would be assured of no price increases.

Even better is just to give the new owner a breakdown of service costs when he buys the tractor. Rick already does this and shows what basic vs premium services cost. Basic is what the manual says to do for fluid changes. Premium as I recall includes a lot of extra things that the owner should be doing (like checking nut tightness, adjusting brakes etc).
