Hello from Northern Minnesota.
I am new to all things electronic, Forums, Bulletin Boards, Internet activities, etc.
I have been dragged into the 21st century kicking and screaming.
After 25 years of trying to keep a 530 Construction King with a model 31 loader and backhoe operating, I sold it. I recently purchased a 2012 John Deere 1026R FILB with 200 hours on it.
I want to learn more about the advantages and pitfalls of this new fangled tractor that doesn't even have a clutch.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your tractor!

I'm going to move this thread over to our John Deere section, where we keep the robot farmers

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

Enjoy the site... and your new-found HST freedom!

Goodday to you! From the nearly frozen lands of Northern Minnesota. I shall be keeping extra blankets on the Little Green Machine til the temps warm up from the current Minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Catherine, thank you for moving me to the John Deere section, I think.
I was hoping to find more information on Sub Compact Utility Tractors on this site, not just JD lawn & Garden. Perhaps, I haven't explored the site adequately enough.

You are good where you are at...in JD Owning/Operating.

And you can always hop up top to the "Google Custom Search" window and enter your ?? there or specific model # like JD 1026R. The hits will all come up and give you tons of information and reading material..
As well, make a new thread and post any question you have. Endless help and gracious knowledgeable TBN'rs will respond.

No real pitfalls except the size. <Tim Allen Grunt>Bigger is better.</Tim Allen Grunt>

You will love the hydrostatic, especially for loader work. Cruise control is nice too if you do much open space mowing.

Welcome from the Twin Cities Banana Belt. SnoGo from an airport?
TCSavage, Hello, Why yes, the SnoGo was from the Bemidji Airport. It spent 20+ years there clearing the runways. The state agency I worked for, then bought it for routine Highway Maintenance in 09.
In 2010, this unit along with others from Virginia and Morris came to your area to rescue your highways from "the blizzard of 2010". Hwy53-Trinity Rd-sidewalk cleaning--1-7-10.jpg
Sorry for the off topic blabber.Ken

Nice to have you here with us! Why isn't this in the new member section? Whatever the case, my spouse is from Ely.
Hello Arly, I'm not that far North, but at times, just as cold.It must be entertaining to listen to folks down south whine about "6 inch snowfalls, crippling the area roads", when you folks get 300+ plus inches of snow in a season and never break a sweat. Ken
