Arrow, I don't believe I have a problem with the front drive. I raised the tractor and get normal sounds when rotating wheels. Now that I have had this problem for a while I believe the problem is hydraulic. Really strange sounds, I am now going to see if I am getting some air in the suction side through the hoses that join the hard suction lines.

have you checked your 4WD shaft? there are two couplers. they are meant to wear out first so the major components don't break..... my uncles 3215 had a clicking noise and he had to replace them and the shaft cuz he let it go... i didn't see in the post talking about the 4wd shaft. also can you post a video of the noise?

SSPENST, I don't notice any noises in 4 WD different than in 2 WD. However I will check the U joints. This tractor only has 270 hrs. I will try to post a video to include the noise which I believe is amplified because this is a CAB tractor. I'll try to do both of these things tomorrow.

i don't think there is a difference in 2wd or 4wd. the front wheels turning will turn the shaft anyway i do believe, the gear set inside the transmission is just disengaged. but yes check the u joints. i just looked in my 3016-3616 service manual and they must have upgraded the front axle from the 3215 to the 3016-3615 (15 series don't have u joints). could be with the full weight of tractor is only when the noise starts.

Good idea. That could make gurgling noise that sounds like marbles rolling around. Process of elimination.

Just checking to see if you ever found a solution? I decided to just live with mine and its been fine so far. I am now convinced that the issue is air in the hydraulic system and the dealer could not find the leak. Everytime they bled the system it was better for a while but would slowly get louder. It's definitely louder in Winter when it's cold as well.

Sorry I just seen you post. No I never did find the problem I, like you, think it is air in the hyd system but I have not be able to find the leak. So, for now I am just going to live with the noise the tractor does what I ask of it and so far had been no problem. I have accumulated 70 hrs or so doing mowing and FEL work. Jim
