Help - 45s Problem - engine racing - no throttle

I bought mine last year. May 2005. Only time I ever used it is when the engine would not shut off with the key. I did not know they have done away with it.

I'll throw in with the injection pump. We had a DK45S in about 2 weeks ago with what sounds like the same issue. Uncontrolable engine racing. Key would not work. Shut it down at the fuel line. Our service department traced the problem to the injection pump. Replaced under warranty, and good to go. The tractor had about 70 hours if I remember right. I hope this helps.

Thanks - Rick's first thoughts were the pump but we were trying the simple things first hoping to avoid the inevitable. Got a little rain here now and when it stops, I'm going to attempt one more thing before I throw in the towel and trailer it to a Kioti Dealer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the magic fix

JEquip, could the service department tell what went wrong with the pump? I would guess that one and mine were put into service about the same time. I have fewer hours but calendar day wise probably close to in service date. One more thing, Rick Wallace has been assisting me thru out this ordeal and has been great assistance to me.

Any other DK 45's with injector problems and is this same pump used on other Kioti models? I'd hate to think that I alone got the 2nd problem child

Please forgive me, I'm getting this information second hand from our service manager. He was telling me the control rack in the injection pump malfunctioned and only had about a quarter of the movement it should have.

UpDate - After some discussion, the local Kioti Dealer will pick up the DK45s on Tuesday (15th) morning for transport to his shop. I will post updates as the situation progresses. Again, my thanks to everyone who has replied and to Rick Wallace for his continued support

Any problems getting your local dealer to work on it when you didn't purchase it from him?

Well, he hasn't worked on it yet but he is coming to pick it up on Tuesday. I was kinda getting the beat around the bush 3rd degree about where I purchased it when I bluntly asked him if he was refusing to honor the Kioti National Warranty and if so, I'd gladly call Kioti, advise them of that and ask for the next closest dealer who did honor the Kioti warranty. He quickly changed his tune and said that they would arrange a pickup date. I'm a big city boy (compared to here) and I just can't get this beat around the bush country attitude going that seems to prevail in this area.

I had a problem once with a new 1978 Toyota Landcruiser that I purchased that resulted in me suing Toyota of America in US Federal Court. The then local Toyota dealer laughed and thought it was funny and the Toyota factory rep was just too busy to intervene. They weren't laughing when the Federal Judge ruled in my favor, awarded me full price for the vehicle plus damages. I took my money and bought a Ford one ton, fully loaded and Toyota pulled the dealership away from the non complying dealer. This is a nationally traded product, sold with a warranty, they better think long and hard before not honoring that warranty. I could get used to that green/yellow combo or if I wanted to stay orange I can go with Kubota.

I will say that I hope that it doesn't come to that (and I don't think that it will) but Rick Wallace (Wallace Tractor-who I bought the tractor from) has always been a stand up guy. He is man of his word and I would hope that Kioti would recognize that and would insist that their other dealers follow his lead. I'd buy another tractor from Rick - I just wish that he was closer

Their seem to be, many other fine Kioti dealers here and I'm going to give the local guy a chance to earn my respect and trust

New Injector Pump is in
I didn't have time for transport this AM but hopefully will be able to transport. repair and put to use by the end of next week

I'll keep everyone appraised of the situation

Now to the dumb question. How do you get all those smiley faces in your post? Knew how before but they changed the format/program.
