no luck yet eh, john?
It can be a bear. Yes BFH is BIG friggin Hammer. The bigger the better. When we'd change pins, we used a drift made from an old pin, welded to a steel handle. The end result was an offset T with the handle offset closer to the hit end. It was a 2 man job.You might have to remove the BH if you cant get a swing at it. Watch the mushrooming. If it starts to mushroom up, grab a grinder and put a chamfer back on it before it gets too bad.
It is a brute force job. Did you try juggling the stabilizer while beating on the pin? Sometimes while moving the stablizer, youll find a sweetspot and the pin will come out real easy. Id probably change the pin and not leave it. It will loosen at the worse time, you wont see it and put the stab down. Without the pin through both holes you'll end up twisting something.
One thing, your sure there are no other locks (like a bolt through the pin) holding the pin in? There shouldnt be with that style pin, but just throwing it out there.
